The Roomba Vacuum Cleaner will clean the floors if activated by pushing the Clean button in the center of the unit. It works independently, but does require a small amount of maintenance:
- After each use, the unit will return to the docking station and dirt will be removed automatically. You don’t have to empty the dust container at all.
- Sometimes, the unit will run low on batteries and return to the base for charging. Once the batteries are recharged, the unit will start again and finish the job.
- Occasionally, it will “eat” a cat toy, and the toy needs to be removed from the brushes. Therefore, it’s always good to place all the cat toys up and off the floor if possible.

Press Clean Button to Start
Clean Brushes / Remove Objects
To clean the brushes or remove an object, flip the unit over as shown. Then:

Press the green lever shown to the left. This will allow you to open the gate as shown in the second photo.

Lift rollers up and to the right to remove for cleaning or to remove cat toy stuck between them. A general removal of built up cat hair is all that is required.
(Note that when re-installing the roller, the dark green one goes towards the top. The rollers are keyed and can only fit in one direction.)

Once the unit has been cleaned or the object removed, re-install the rollers and close the gate on the left side. Put the unit back upright on the floor and press clean to continue, or the Home icon to send the unit back to the charging stand.
